| Moses Received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai |
|
If we obeyed the 10 Commandments and let them guide our actions, most of us would have to change a lot of the things that we do and the ways we respond to people and events of daily living.
God spoke these words in Exodus 20 which are sometimes referred to as the DECALOGUE, and if God takes the time to speak, it is because it is important for us to listen and know. Here they are in easy to understand format...
1. Do not worship any other gods but me
2. Do not worship idols or angels
3. Do not demean my name or use it flippantly
4. Keep the Sabbath holy
5. Honor your father and your mother
6. Do not kill
7. Do not sleep around
8. Do not steal or cheat
9. Do not gossip or lie on people
10. Do not desire what others have
Are they still relevant?--you bet they are
Passage Matthew 5:17:
17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
